If you were hoping to catch Jennifer Hudson on Broadway in the Color Purple you’d better hurry up because her run is coming to an end…DARN!!

According to reports Jennifer Hudson will not be extending her six month contracted run as Suge Avery in the Color Purple on Broadway and will be replaced by Heather Headley next month.

Jennifer takes her final bow May 8, 2016.

Insiders are whispering about the unfortunate timing of Jennifer’s departure because although Tony Award nominations go out May 3rd out-of-town voters likely won’t catch her performance.

Ticket sales for the Color Purple have been strong under Jennifer’s run.
