It’s over.

The lovable Cedric “The Entertainer is leaving Disney-ABC’s  syndicated game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” after one  season as host. And the network is not happy, unhealthy because they loved him too.

Citing an incredibly busy schedule along with the show’s move to Connecticut  for his decision, medicine the funny man detailed his reasons for departure in a  statement.

With the many television and film projects that I have going on which  shoot and promote in various parts of the country, a production-base in  Connecticut would make it quite difficult to maneuver the many moving parts on  my plate. So, after much thought and some serious conversations with senior  executives at the studio, I decided to let Disney-ABC know that, unfortunately,  I’m not able to continue on as host. It has truly been a fantastic ride hosting  Millionaire this year — a really great time! Thanks so much to all the fans,  contestants, crew, and everyone involved for making it such a fun and gratifying  experience. As I always say on the show in parting, ‘Watch Your  Wallet’!”

Cedric succeeded original “Millionaire” host Meredith Vieira who left last  year after 11 seasons. Following his takeover of the show, ratings have been  solid with him at the helm.

“Cedric is a tremendous talent and we’d like to thank him for infusing his  unique brand of humor and entertainment into the show,” Disney-ABC said. “It has  been an absolute pleasure working with him on ”Millionaire” this year — we’ll certainly miss him.”

The move to Standford, CT is being made for budget reasons, as it will bring  savings and tax breaks. Projects Cedric is working on include his TV Land comedy  series “The Soul Man,” a new reality series for the CW, “Cedric’s  Barber Battle,” hosting the Critics’ Choice Awards and his own podcast as well  as a couple of features, a Chris Rock film, the animated “Planes: Fire &  Rescue” and the potential “Barbershop” triquel.
