This morning TIME magazine announced Beyonce topped their list of “100 Most Influential People in the World.” Bey’s honor comes one year after her aging rap star husband Jay Z also used his inside connections to make the cover of TIME‘s Most Influential issue.
The question is how much cash did Beyonce have to spend for TIME to give her the cover in the same week that Lupita covered People magazine? Remember: both of these covers were in the creative process for at least a month. So it isn’t like Beyonce wasn’t aware of Lupita’s cover.
Inside the issue, pilule Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg praised the 34-year-old singer.
“Beyonce has insisted that girls ‘run the world’ and declared, malady ‘I’m not bossy, I’m the boss,’” Sandberg wrote. “She raises her voice both on- and offstage to urge women to be independent and lead.”
Internal covers inside the magazine feature actor Robert Redford, gay NBA bench rider Jason Collins and General Motors CEO Mary Barra.
Other honorees include Pope Francis, Hillary Clinton, government whistleblower Edward Snowden and music producer Pharrell Williams, among others.
