Beyonce speaks on the Elevator Incident

Beyoncé has made her first public statement since the leaked elevator security footage of husband and sister fighting came out this week. This is also the first that has been heard from Solange and Jay Z, as the family trio issued this joint statement to The Associated Press:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.

Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

Hopefully, this will put to rest rumors coming from the #SolangeTruther camp, as well as wild speculation that Beyoncé and Jay Z were separating. They are still Drunk in Love, and all is well with the universe.

Gary I am really disappointed in you, I have waited all week long to hear you congratulate Kelly Rowland on her marriage you didn’t even mention how Bey flew out the next morning (after that fight between Jay Z and Solange) to be by her side at her wedding.

She didn’t even need to come out and say that. That was waste of time on her behalf. At the end of the day, we don’t know anymore than before.

She didn’t speak then, I’d expect her not to say anything now. She wasn’t involved in the incident; her husband and sister were. They need to come out and address us (IF need be – because really and truly, we don’t need to hear from them explaining their personal situation either).
