Syl Johnson filed lawsuits against Usher and the existing members of Run-D.M.C for copyright infringement for sampling his 1967 hit Different Strokes without permission.
The suit also names Sony Music and Universal Music Group. Syl settled his lawsuit with Jay Z and Kanye West.
