Fans were shocked to hear about Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally‘s split — especially since they seemed so happy together. When the two were married in 2011, the comedienne had this to say about her husband: “This man not only loves me, but he adores my son [Jeffrey]. And my son adores him.” How sad! Poor Sherri! When she first met Lamar, she thought she had found the man of her dreams after enduring a difficult split from her first husband, who cheated on her.

But Sherri recently told her friends that her marriage with Lamar was “in trouble,” according to the New York Post, and a close family insider tells the UK’s Daily Mail that infidelity may have caused the split.

After their romantic wedding in 2011, a report surfaced that Lamar was allegedly still close with an ex-girlfriend, and that he had even invited her to the wedding, without telling Sherri, 47, that she was a former lover.

This isn’t the first brush with infidelity that Sherri has experienced. She and her first husband, Jeff Tarpley, divorced in 2009 when she found out he was having an affair and that his mistress was pregnant. They had been married for eight years.

We hope that the cheating report about Lamar isn’t true, but either way, it looks like their marriage is really over. The talk show host, who looks better than ever after losing 60 lbs., will continue living in NYC, but her ex has moved to Los Angeles.

In June, 2013, Sherri opened up on the Tom Joyner Morning Show about her desire to have children with Lamar, and revealed that they were considering a surrogate.

“We found a girl that didn’t have any drama in her life. We’re putting in our egg and Sal’s sperm and we’ll let you know how it progresses,” Sherri said at the time.
