After a long and private battle with pancreatic cancer,  Aretha Franklin has died. She was 76-years-old, and surrounded by family and friends in Detroit under hospice care as she made her transition to be with the Lord.

Reports are swirling that the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin is currently fighting for her life. According to Showbiz411.com, she is “gravely ill” and “surrounded by family and people close to her” in her hometown Detroit.

Ms. Franklin is 76-years-old and has reportedly been battling cancer since 2010. She last performed at Elton John‘s AIDS Foundation in New York last November.
